One small unit rides under the saddle, near the bike’s centre line, and feels every tilt and shake. Nothing on the handlebar has to be touched.
Not built yet
The small board for under the saddle is not soldered and the PCB has not been ordered. Today the logger is a bench prototype.
It measures two things.
An accelerometer feels gravity and forces. A gyroscope feels how fast the bike rotates. Twenty times a second the sensor reports both.
Bench only
Logged on the bench. No ride has been logged yet.
Gravity tells it how far over it is.
Gravity always points down. The sensor knows where its own down is, and the angle between the two is the lean angle. The gyroscope fills in between readings.
Bench only
The sensor’s own fusion gives the angle. Whether it holds up in a real corner is what the first ride will show.
Bluetooth carries it to your head unit.
The angle is sent over Bluetooth Low Energy to a Garmin Edge or Fenix. No phone is in the chain.
Not built yet
The Bluetooth code is written and tested on a computer, but not yet on the board.
The field shows it next to your watts.
A Connect IQ data field draws the lean angle beside power, in a colour that says how close the corner is to the grip limit, G1 to G6.
Simulator only
Tested on fictional data in Garmin’s simulator, Edge 540 and Fenix 7. Not on a real Edge, not in the Connect IQ Store.

Built and tested
Runs on krengo.pro and is tested on example and synthetic files. No real Krengo ride has gone through it yet.
The animations are drawings. The numbers in them are made up. No real ride has been logged yet, and the first one will decide whether the lean angle holds up. Read the build story
